This week, two siblings from Limpopo were remanded into police prison for the suspected murder of their younger sibling.

Monday night, Hollo Mapadimeng, 60, and Seageng Mogapu, 62, allegedly murdered their brother with an axe at their home in the Eenkanteen Mampha hamlet in Limpopo, according to the police.c

Matshele Nelson Mogapu, 53, has been confirmed dead.

According to police spokesman Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, the siblings appeared before the Nebo magistrate’s court on Wednesday and were remanded in custody until their next court appearance on Thursday of the following week.

Malesela stated that the police received information from community members after the victim was chopped with an axe following an alleged dispute with his two brothers.

“Upon arrival, authorities discovered the victim’s body and apprehended the two suspects at the site. The incident’s motivation is now unknown, however domestic violence cannot be ruled out. The cops are conducting an investigation.

The defendants were remanded in custody until their next court appearance on January 19, 2023, for a formal bail application.
