A guy is fighting for his life after sustaining severe head and neck injuries in a dramatic clifftop fall from a well-known Australian lookout onto rocks.
Wednesday around 9.30 a.m., a guy in his twenties was trimming trees on the boardwalk of Coolum Esplanade on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast when he suffered a medical emergency.
He plummeted 20 to 30 meters down a high cliff and landed on rocks, where he sustained severe head, chest, and spinal injuries.
Wednesday at 9.30 a.m., a guy in his twenties was working on trees at the cliff’s edge on the boardwalk at Coolum Esplanade on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast when he plummeted into rocks below.

His fall prompted an exciting clifftop rescue.
Emergency personnel abseiled down the sheer cliff face in order to reach the injured man on the rocky shore.
The medical team collaborated with the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services to reach the severely injured worker.
The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue critical care doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service flight paramedic assisted the man at the base of the cliff.
At 10 a.m., when the RACQ LifeFlight rescue helicopter came, the pilot hovered above the man’s location so that a stretcher could be lowered.
After being fastened on the stretcher, he was winched into the helicopter.
The critically ill patient was then evacuated to Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane.
It is believed that the individual who sustained severe head, chest, and spinal injuries had a medical episode prior to the fall.
Wednesday about 9:30 a.m., a man fell off the boardwalk at Coolum Esplanade down the cliff face and onto rocks below.
A LifeFlight rescue statement stated, ‘It is believed the man was trimming trees near a popular seaside overlook when he fell, landing on rocks at the base of the cliff.’
He had severe injuries to his head, chest, and spine, among others.
