Female artisans who have undergone training through the Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA) Short/Long-term training programs have been encouraged to adopt proactive approaches that align with international technological standards in their respective trades. Mrs. Oluyemi Kalesanwo, the Permanent Secretary of WAPA, delivered this message during a visit from Womenpreneurng, a Tech-Savvy Non-Governmental Organization dedicated to educating skilled women with disabilities about electronic platforms.

Mrs. Kalesanwo urged the beneficiaries of the skill training programs to embrace various opportunities aimed at their personal development, particularly in modern technology to enhance their businesses. She emphasized that many residents have acquired multiple skills that they might not yet consider viable sources of income. However, she encouraged them to nurture their businesses, as success in any venture demands strong dedication. She highlighted the role of passion in determining their financial status within their chosen trades and noted that passionate individuals are more likely to tap into the opportunities provided by the Lagos State Government for business growth.

The Permanent Secretary reiterated the support provided to the empowerment program recipients, emphasizing that the Monitoring and Evaluation process helps prevent mismanagement and accelerates feedback mechanisms for assessing productivity.

Mrs. Oghenovo Victory, the Founder of Womenpreneurng, echoed the sentiment that poverty eradication involves more than just financial literacy. She stressed the importance of creating an environment conducive to collaboration between Womenpreneurng and WAPA, which would ultimately benefit vulnerable individuals in Lagos State.
