The Redeemers Nursery and Primary School in Ogba has been closed by the Lagos State Ministry of Education.

The school will stay closed until an administrative inquiry into its practices and administrators’ conduct is conducted in accordance with safety standards and regulations for schools.

The probe follows the death of a five-year-old student who is believed to have drowned while under the school’s care during a swimming session. The situation is being looked into by the police.

According to a preliminary investigation by the Office of Education Quality Assurance of the Ministry, the Redeemers Nursery and Primary School, Ogba, has not yet finished registering and is not yet an authorized school.
