The Lagos State Police have made a commitment to potentially exhuming the body of Nigerian musician Mohbad in response to recent uncertainties regarding the true cause of his demise.
Police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin discussed this possibility during an Instagram Live conversation with radio host Daddy Freeze.
Hundeyin underscored that the decision to exhume Mohbad’s body would be taken in the pursuit of a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death, with a focus on transparency and providing closure to the musician’s family and fans.
Addressing Concerns and Rumors
Following the unexpected passing of rapper Mohbad on the previous Sunday, Hundeyin acknowledged the persisting rumors and concerns.
He stated that authorities are willing to take the drastic step, if necessary, of exhuming the controversial artist’s remains to help uncover the cause of his untimely death.
Hundeyin stressed the importance of conducting a comprehensive investigation to offer closure to Mohbad’s family, friends, and fans. Exhumation, he explained, would enable a thorough autopsy to shed light on any underlying health conditions or external factors contributing to the rapper’s demise.

“If need be, we will exhume the body for an autopsy,” confirmed the police Public Relations Officer (PRO), emphasizing the paramount importance of uncovering the truth. However, Hundeyin clarified that exhuming a grave remains a last resort.
