A big ferry carrying more than 200 terrified passengers collided with a popular pier, with a pregnant woman among the injured.

A shocked passenger revealed some of the 220 on board were injured, including a pregnant woman
Saturday evening at 6 p.m., the Lady Cutler collided with a concrete wall while attempting to dock at Melbourne’s Central Pier in Docklands.

Dozens of police officers and emergency medical technicians hurried to the scene, where they remained for at least an hour chatting with and inspecting the massive throng.

All 210 passengers were members of a local Somali community group, according to witnesses who recounted the “terrifying ordeal.”

It is believed that a pregnant woman received concussion after hitting her head and being among the injured.

‘Many individuals broke their teeth, and one woman was pregnant and injured herself,’ a frightened passenger told Nine News.

“Many people are merely hurt”

The popular neighborhood was packed with families who witnessed the collision.

A group of young witnesses told Seven News, “We saw the boat come in pretty quickly and see that it was about to dock, and we thought there was no way he could save it, even if he put it in reverse.”

A passenger reported that several of the 220 on board, including a pregnant woman, were harmed.

A Victoria Police spokesperson stated that WorkSafe Victoria was responsible for the incident.

Ambulance Victoria has not yet provided information regarding the injured.

The Central Pier, which is more than a century old, is surrounded by pubs, clubs, restaurants, and event facilities.

Emergency personnel hurried to Central Pier in order to evaluate and treat the terrified passengers.
