Several others shared videos of themselves dancing to the song on social media, causing the song to become an instant hit. The president of Liberia, George Weah, and Rotimi Amaechi, a former transportation minister, are two key individuals who have performed a public dance to the song.
During the most recent All Progressives Congress presidential primaries, the song was also played repeatedly.
The music app Shazam revealed on its Twitter page on May 19, 2022, that the song “Buga” had garnered the most Shazams worldwide. It was also the first song to exceed a million streams on Boomplay Music in a single day.
