Keith Hill, President and CEO of Canadian oil and gas sets to attend African Energy Week 2022

Keith Hill, President and CEO of Africa Oil Corporation, a Canadian oil and gas exploration and production company, will be in Cape Town from October 18 to 21, 2022, to discuss hydrocarbon exploration and production optimization at Africa’s premier energy sector event, African Energy Week (AEW) (https://AECWeek.com).

Africa’s hydrocarbon potential is likely to be boosted by international independents such as Africa Oil Corporation, which are expected to play a vital role in boosting exploration operations and energy production due to limited expenditures across the upstream industry.

Keith Hill’s presence at AEW 2022, as a representative of one of Africa’s most important exploration firms, will be critical in shaping the conversation about how international independents can maximize exploration for deep water projects to boost output as majors exit some of Africa’s hydrocarbon-rich basins to diversify their portfolios.

Keith Hill is a geologist with more than 35 years of experience in the oil sector, having managed successful exploration, asset acquisitions, and production campaigns at Africa Oil Corporation, Shell, and other major players.

Since Hill became CEO of Africa Oil Corporation in 2009, the company has been involved in some of Africa’s most significant exploration and discovery activities in the last decade.

The Venus discovery, which was discovered with TotalEnergies in Block 2913B off the coast of Namibia via subsidiary Impact Oil & Gas Limited, is noteworthy.

Africa Oil Corporation is successfully operating deep-water offshore Nigerian producing assets. Hill is also directing Africa Oil Corporation’s asset development and exploration initiatives in Namibia, South Africa, and the Senegal-Guinea Bissau Joint Development Zone in Kenya, demonstrating the company’s commitment to accelerate project development across Africa’s rich basins.

Hill is also the Chairman of ShaMaran Petroleum Corp., an oil exploration and developer. Prior to joining Africa Oil Corporation, he worked for the Canadian mining conglomerate Lundin Group and Occidental Petroleum in key exploration roles. During his involvement with the oil companies, he was also behind successful exploration initiatives undertaken by BlackPearl Resources Inc, Valkyries Petroleum Corp, ShaMaran Petroleum Corp, and Tyner Resources.

Africa Oil Corporation, led by Keith Hill, is elevating Africa’s oil and gas sector to new heights through its subsidiaries, which include Prime Oil & Gas Coöperatief, Africa Oil Corp, and Eco (Atlantic) Oil & Gas Ltd. Kenya is set to produce its first hydrocarbon energy, with Africa Oil Corporation leading the development of these projects. Kenya has never produced oil or gas.

“Africa Oil Corp and Keith Hill continue to be game changers and bullish about Africa and its future. We are so proud of the work Africa Oil Corp is undertaking to increase the number of energy-producing countries in Africa.

We now hope to see an energy independent Kenya – thanks to Keith Hill. The discovery made by Africa Oil Corp in Kenya will not only address the country’s energy needs and generate revenues for the government, but will place the country on the global energy map,” states NJ Ayuk, the Executive Chairman of the African Energy Chamber (AEC), adding that

“Africa Oil Corp has also done great in making sure Nigeria remains a top oil producer. With gas changing Africa’s energy landscape, we hope to see the works of the company expanding across the continent.” Concluded Ayuk

Under the theme ‘Exploring and Investing in Africa’s Energy Future while Driving an Enabling Environment’ AEW 2022 will host Keith Hill in panel discussions and high-level meetings to discuss boosting exploration activities and investments across Africa’s entire oil and gas value chain.
