Karine Jean-Pierre congratulates an employee and former Biden researcher

Karine Jean-Pierre, the press secretary for the White House, began her briefing on Tuesday by wishing Andrew Bates, the deputy press secretary, and Megan Apper, a former researcher at the White House, a happy wedding.

“We wanted to carry on the briefing room press team heritage.” I simply want to take a second to thank Andrew and to honour him. This Saturday, he is getting married,’ Jean-Pierre stated.

The affection he has for Megan Apoer, his partner and best friend from the movies, is great. Before going to Bates and putting a “Groom to be” ribbon over his head, she said, “We’re wishing them the best as they begin a future of love and happiness.”

Then Apper surprised Bates in the briefing room, and Jean-Pierre also gave her a ribbon reading “Bride to be.”

Karine Jean-Pierre, the press secretary at the White House, began her briefing on Tuesday by wishing future newlyweds Megan Apper and deputy press secretary Andrew Bates all the best.

She took a break from the briefing to dress Bates in a sash that said, “Groom to be.”

Then Jean-Pierre mentioned Bates’ fiancée Megan Apper.

The White House press corps was informed by Jean-Pierre that “we take marriage and wedding extremely seriously here” and that Bates would be taking a 10-day vacation after the wedding.

Bates has been a part of the Biden campaign from the beginning. Politico claims that last year, Bates popped the question to Apper, a former Biden researcher who is now employed by the State Department.

The press secretary was then grilled on the southern border, fresh inflation data, and the day’s headlines.

She said that “we are doing far more [than Trump] to protect the border and could be doing considerably more if Republicans would end their resistance.”

According to the most recent inflation statistics released on Tuesday, prices were up 8.3 percent from a year ago and 0.1 percent from the previous month. Jean Pierre said that prices have been “basically flat” throughout the nation for the last two months.

The CPI report for today “shows greater progress in bringing home global inflation,” she added.

This summer, gas costs have decreased daily. It is a result of the administration’s efforts,’ the press secretary said.

Although the press secretary said that supermarket costs were “moderating,” they are still higher than they were a year ago by 11.4 percent.
