Karine Jean-Pierre argues that immigrants do not enter the country “walking.”

Karine Jean-Pierre, the press secretary for the White House, argued Monday during a testy exchange with Peter Doocy of Fox News Channel that immigrants weren’t “walking” into the country.

Doocy questioned Jean-Pierre as to why unvaccinated immigrants were permitted to enter the country and remain yet Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic was prohibited from competing in the United States owing to his lack of vaccinations.

It’s not that easy,’ remarked Jean-Pierre. It’s not simply that individuals are crossing the border on foot. There is a strategy in place. This is not the same as turning on the lights. This will need a procedure. We are repairing a flawed system that the previous government really left in place.

Karine Jean-Pierre, the press secretary for the White House, claimed on Monday that immigrants weren’t “walking” into the country during a tense exchange with Peter Doocy of Fox News Channel.

Tennis star Novak Djokovic of Serbia is ineligible to compete in this week’s U.S. Open because he has not had a COVID-19 vaccination.

Earlier this month at Eagle Pass, Texas, a member of the Texas National Guard assisted a group of migrants in climbing over a wire fence.

After crossing the Rio Grande River into Texas illegally earlier this month, a small group of migrants walks toward the U.S. Border Patrol.

According to Jean-Pierre, Djokovic was unable to discuss specific visa issues because of privacy concerns.

She said, “The US government likewise does not comment on medical information of specific passengers.”

Due to his lack of a COVID-19 vaccination, Djokovic will not be competing in this week’s US Open.

A regulation of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention prohibiting unvaccinated foreigners from entering the country is still in effect.

Jean-Pierre disagreed with Doocy’s attempt to make an apples-to-apples comparison between immigrants and Djokovic, saying, “They’re two different things.”

She remarked that immigrants weren’t coming into the country on foot, and he laughed.

The Fox News White House reporter said, “Thousands of people are walking in in a day.” Tens of thousands every week do not turn themselves in, while some do.

She continued by outlining the measures the Biden administration has implemented to stop illegal immigration.

And that’s absolutely different as it pertains to the tennis star, Jean-Pierre remarked. That is a distinct procedure. He is competing in that year’s U.S. Open. Furthermore, he must abide with federal and CDC guidelines.

Jean-Pierre made an attempt to counter that the CDC also forbids unvaccinated immigrants from entering the nation.

For anyone crossing the southern border, the CDC has a provision. She remarked, “It’s not only for tennis players.
