Kaizer Chiefs visit Maritzburg United on Women’s Day in their second DStv Premiership match of 2022/23.

On Women’s Day, Kaizer Chiefs will play at home for the first time this season as they host Maritzburg United in their second DStv Premiership match of the 2022/23 season.

The visitors will be hoping to trigger an upset after splitting the spoils in their opening encounter of the season against Sekhukhune United on the same day, while Amakhosi will be seeking to take maximum points after suffering a loss on Saturday.

Coach Arthur Zwane’s goal this season is to turn the FNB Stadium into a fortress, with his team aiming to win all of their home games.

Given Saturday’s strong performance, the coach says he intends to keep playing in the same manner and capitalize on the opportunities created by the squad.

With just one practice session in between the two games, coach Zwane has opted to make two changes to the lineup that played Royal AM in Durban on Saturday.

The squad is still missing S’fiso Hlanti, Sibusiso Mabiliso, and Kamohelo Mahlatsi, who are on their way back to full health. Phathutshedzo Nange, the suspended midfielder, will watch from the stands.

After handing four players their first Amakhosi appearances last week, coach Zwane has opted to give Lehlogonolo Matlou his first Amakhosi appearance this evening. Cole Alexander is replaced in midfield by the midfielder who arrived from Swallows.

Another change comes at right-back, where Dillan Solomons, who came in as a second-half replacement in the last game, replaces Njabulo Blom.

For this evening’s match, the Chiefs will play in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

Bruce Bvuma keeps his spot between the posts.

Reeve Frosler will play on the left, Solomons on the right, with Zitha Kwinika and Siyabonga Ngezana partnering in the Amakhosi defense.

Yusuf Maart will collaborate with Matlou in the park.

Siyethema Sithebe will be in front of them, with Keagan Dolly and Ashley Du Preez on the right.

The onslaught will be led by Khama Billiat.

Dolly will don the captain’s armband once again today.

Tshidiso Mkhwanazi is the referee for the game. Kgara Mokoena and Sipho Mahlangu will support him. Romario Phiri is the fourth official.

Amakhosi’s first DStv Premiership home match versus The Team of Choice this season will begin at 19:30 at FNB Stadium.

Those who cannot attend the game may watch it live on SuperSport’s PSL Channel 202 on DStv and on different SABC Radio stations, with frequent updates on Twitter @KaizerChiefs.
