Kaizer Chiefs to start the 2022/2023 DStv Premiership season with an away fixture against Royal AM

The 2022/2023 DStv Premiership season will be kicked off by Kaizer Chiefs’ away match against Royal AM in Durban on Saturday.

Amakhosi, like many other Premier Soccer League sides, have been inactive for more than two months and have taken advantage of the time to make adjustments to the team.

Eight new players have been signed while twelve players from the previous season have left Naturena. Thabo Mokoena and Keletso Sifama have also returned to the Club following loan stints.

In order for his team to be prepared to play this season, starting with Saturday’s match against Royal AM, coach Arthur Zwane and his assistant Dillon Sheppard have been working incredibly hard.

“We have worked on our preparations, but obviously it won’t be easy because all teams want to do well,” says Coach Arthur Zwane.

“We have looked at different combinations at the back, midfield and attack, and we feel we are ready for action. It’s important to start well and work on building on that for the next number of games. We will do our best on Saturday and hope that the Amakhosi supporters that will be in the stadium leave with smiles on their faces,” Zwane added.

The match will be played at Durban’s Chatsworth Stadium. The match starts at 17:30.

Tickets for the match will go on sale starting on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at the BP Garage next to Chatsworth Stadium, the Royal AM Salon in Gateway Mall, and Max Lifestyle in Umlazi.

Each open stand ticket costs R40.
