Kaizer Chiefs to use THREE stadiums in THREE provinces as ‘home’ venues this season

The PSL has accepted Kaizer Chiefs’ use of THREE stadiums in THREE different provinces as ‘home’ venues this season.

Amakhosi have played all of their home games at FNB Stadium for years, but that is about to change.

As announced last week, Chiefs’ first of many “home away from home” matches will take place on Saturday, August 20 against Richards Bay FC.

The match is scheduled to take place at Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium, where Chiefs had previously played their home games.

The match starts at 20:00.

Chiefs will then play all of their September home matches at FNB Stadium before playing Chippa United at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein for their October home opener.

According to the PSL calendar, the match between Chiefs and Chippa will take place on Saturday, October 15, at 17:30 (local time).

The Free State Stadium will be used twice more when Chiefs visit Royal AM and Golden Arrows on January 29 and February 18, 2023, respectively.

On 2 May 2023, Amakhosi will play their last away match against Soweto rivals Swallows FC at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

This implies that Chiefs will only play 10 home games at FNB Stadium this season, with the remaining five being played in the provinces of KwaZulu-Natal (2) and Free State (3).
