Juvenile Charged in Connection to Brutal Subway Attack on 15-Year-Old

On Wednesday, the police announced the arrest of a 14-year-old boy in connection to a violent assault of a 15-year-old boy that occurred on a Manhattan subway platform last Friday.

The attack was caught on video and went viral on social media on Monday.

The suspect has been charged with aggravated harassment, assault, harassment, and menacing as a juvenile.

However, two suspects are still at large, including a young woman who was seen dragging the victim off the train while shouting at him to “get off.”

In the video, the woman holds onto the victim’s shirt and pulls him down the platform, while repeatedly yelling at him to “walk.”

A male voice can be heard chanting the N-word, followed by “alert.”

The victim, who has autism, tries to get back on the train, but the woman drags him off again before someone punches him in the face.

The victim’s glasses are yanked from his face, and he throws a few punches to defend himself as someone yells, “Fight back!” The attack left the victim with a cut on his lip, pain to his body, and broken glasses.

The victim did not know his assailants, and the NYPD has notified the Hate Crime Task Force because of the anti-black slur used in the attack.

The victim’s mother, who did not want to be identified due to safety concerns for herself and her son, stated that her son does not know who attacked him or why.

On Tuesday, a rally was held at the same station where the assault occurred.

Some referred to the victim as a “transit kid,” a term used to describe young people fascinated with riding subways and buses.

Activists at the rally held signs reading “Stop Racism and Bullying,” “New York is not hate!,” and “Schools teach kindness, love, empathy.”

NYC Transit President Richard Davey condemned the attack and said that no one should be subject to this kind of hateful harassment while riding with New York City Transit.

The MTA is fully cooperating with the NYPD’s investigation into the incident.
