Journalist exposed Democrat official’s affair, ending his career

A shady video a Vegas reporter released showing a Democratic official getting out of his vehicle with a lady he was supposedly having an affair with may have been a factor in his death.

The Las Vegas Review-investigative Journal’s reporter Jeff German, 69, was discovered dead outside of his house on Saturday morning.

Robert Telles, the 45-year-old public administrator for Clark County, was detained on Wednesday in relation to the killing.

Shortly before he was arrested by police, he refused to deny that he had any involvement in the murder.

After German published multiple exposés exposing the unrest in Telles’ office, he was unable to gain reelection.

After German released a video showing Telles getting out of a car with his “lover,” it was revealed that Telles had an affair with a coworker, which was very devastating.

The 45-year-old staff member Roberta Lee-Kennett can be seen lifting her skirt down as she exits the vehicle beside the official.

The late investigative journalist released the tape in May.

Before Telles was arrested, Las Vegas police searched his residence for DNA evidence that may have been used to connect him to the murder.

Telles refused to answer the question “did you do this?” when he was confronted about it by reporters when they visited him at home while police were still looking into it.

Telles, a Democrat, lost his bid for reelection as a result of a string of articles by German that detailed the conflict in his office and implied he had an affair with a worker. Hours before his arrest, Las Vegas police searched his residence.

By six o’clock that evening, police had returned to Telles’s house in tactical gear and were encircling it with Telles still inside.

He was taken from the house on a stretcher and placed into an ambulance about 30 minutes later, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

In a previous article, DailyMail.com reported that Telles had been complaining about German for months, including in a furious string of social media posts in which he accused German of rummaging through his garbage and creating “false smear articles” about him.

“The arrest of Robert Telles is at once a huge relief and an outrage for the Review-Journal journalism,” Executive Editor Glenn Cook remarked after the arrest.

‘We are happy,’ Telles is being held and is furious that a colleague allegedly died for writing about an elected official. If journalists are worried that presenting the truth would result in violent retaliation, they won’t do the vital job that our communities need from them.

“We commend Las Vegas police for their haste, diligence, and prompt recognition of the horrific gravity of Jeff’s homicide.” Now, perhaps, Jeff’s many friends, the German family, and the Review-Journal can start the process of grieving and paying tribute to a brilliant guy and a courageous reporter.

Three days after his primary loss, on June 19, Telles sent an angry message in which he stated: “If Rita does not win, then her job will not be abandoned.”

The employee who desired her job won’t obtain it then. This individual intended to stay in that employment for three years in order to retire with a significantly greater monthly income.

Because of this, Jeff German and John Cahill may still be dragging me through the muck.

The majority of Democratic voters would have to turn against me even now, when I ought to be irrelevant, in order for Democrats to rally around Rita. Don’t be shocked if new articles continue to appear.

“My family and friends have been really supportive of me throughout all of these publications.”

Despite the personal attacks Jeff German and John Cahill have made against me, I have received love and support that have enabled me to continue running for re-election. I still have that love and support even if I lost.

The day before, Telles had also gone on a Twitter rant, accusing German of tormenting him, rummaging through his garbage, and issuing a “veiled threat” against him.

Looking forward to lying smear piece #4 by @JGermanRJ #onetrickpony, read one post. I believe he is upset that I haven’t died by crawling into a hole.

Another chimed in, “Typical bully.” After throwing 100 pounds of BS, I can’t take one pound of criticism. Article 4 is now complete. He ought to be doing better things, right?

After throwing away pizza and sushi boxes, Telles also said that he anticipated being associated with the Yakuza [street gang] and the Mob. He then added ironically: “Honey, is there a wild animal in the garbage?” the wife asks after hearing rustling in the trash. No, sweetie, I say. It seems that @JGermanRJ is searching through our garbage for his fourth tale on me. Oh, Jeff.

In the affluent Peccole Ranch neighbourhood of Las Vegas, Telles lives in a $660,000 four-bedroom house with his wife Mae Ishmael, 45, and their three young children.

Police searched the home in the early hours of Wednesday.

The police said that video of a maroon 2007–2013 GMC Yukon Denali was connected to the crime and had previously made it public.

Police took a grey BMW sedan and a similar car, which can be seen in the street view of Telles’ house, from the property.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Telles is believed to have returned to the site at 2:00 pm while wearing a hazmat suit.
