Johari Jenkins, 23, from Tennessee arrested on multiple counts of attempted murder after shooting into a home

After shooting into a home with children, a 23-year-old woman from Tennessee was arrested on numerous counts of attempted murder.

After an altercation on Thursday 2 May at 1100 Breedlove Street in Memphis, Johari Jenkins was charged with criminal attempt at first degree murder, aggravated assault, and several other offences.

At around 5.30 p.m., the Memphis Police Department was dispatched to the block when the victim and her three children, who were all inside the house, reported that a lady had reportedly fired rounds into the property.

The children, who subsequently identified Jenkins in a six-person photo line-up, shot once into their home’s floor and yelled, ‘I hope I hit one of those little b******,’ according to an affidavit.

Jenkins allegedly then proceeded into the house’s roofed outdoor walkway and ‘deliberately fired’ four or five rounds into the living room window.

Investigators spoke with a witness who was in an apartment near the area the next day and stated she heard’several bullets.’

‘Since I already have a charge against me, I might as well get another one today by killing you and your kids b****,’ the witness said she overheard the shooter, allegedly 23-year-old Jenkins, say.

Jenkins was also identified in a six-person photo line-up, according to police.

The motive for the gun attack is unknown.

Another witness, who was inside her home nearby on the same night of the shooting, said she saw Jenkins with a firearm in her possession, and was shooting inside the second floor of her neighbor’s home.

The Memphis Police Department were called to the 1100 Breedlove Street, Memphis (the area is pictured) on Thursday 2 May. At around 5.30pm, the victim called police reporting that she and her three children were all inside their home as a woman, allegedly Jenkins, fired shots into the propertyJenkins told the victim, ‘I hope I hit one of your kids and I’m going to murder you next b****,’ according to this second witness, who also identified Jenkins in a photo line-up.

Jenkins allegedly hurled a glass bottle at the victim’s vehicle, shattering the windshield. Jenkins is also accused of kicking out the back window, according to documents.

Jenkins, according to court records, has no bond information. On June 6, the 23-year-old is scheduled to appear in court.
