After critics alleged the White House was attempting to pull federal school lunch funding away from districts that do not implement LGBTQI-friendly policies, Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis declared on Sunday that President Joe Biden is “off his rocker.”
‘We’re ready for whatever Biden throws at us,’ DeSantis said during a press conference announcing the state budget’s passage.
‘Yes, part of it is due to inflation and petrol prices.’
Part of it is also “intentionally harmful measures,” such as “seeking to withhold school meal programs to states that do not implement transgender ideology in schools.”
Early last month, Biden’s Department of Agriculture (USDA) stated that it would slash federal food aid to state and local governments that do not follow the White House’s anti-LGBTQI discrimination policy.
Entities that receive funds from the federal government’s Food and Nutrition Service (FNS), such as public schools, will be required to alter their rules to clearly prohibit discrimination based on gender identity or sexual orientation.
They’re also required to look into any claims of prejudice.
It comes after more than a dozen states passed legislation aimed at transgender kids, such as requiring pupils to use bathrooms and sports teams that correspond to their natal gender.
‘I mean, give me a break,’ DeSantis fumed. ‘Totally off his rocker to be doing that.’

In pursuit of his extreme agenda, President Biden is holding lunch money for impoverished Americans hostage,’ Noem told the Argus Leader on June 2.
‘If we don’t allow biological males to compete in girls’ sports, we’ll lose SNAP and school meal funds,’ he says.
‘South Dakota will continue to protect basic justice so that our girls can compete and achieve,’ Noem promised.
In comments to Fox News, Fight for Schools Executive Director Ian Prior also lambasted the update.
‘For the federal government to come in and really tie school nutrition and school lunch programs to this radical ideology is terrifying, and it’s appalling,’ he said.
