Joe Biden promises that if China invades, the US would DEFEND Taiwan.


President Joe Biden vowed that the United States would use its own force to defend Taiwan if China invaded the island in an explosive 60 minutes interview on Sunday.

‘Would U.S. forces defend the island?’ 60 Minutes’ Scott Pelley asked the president after pushing pushing him on the extent of his commitment to Taiwan.

‘Yes, if in fact there was an unprecedented attack,’ Mr. Biden said.

‘So unlike Ukraine, to be clear, sir,’ Pelley continued, ‘US forces, US men and women would defend Taiwan in the event of a Chinese invasion?’

‘Yes,’ Biden said.

The president’s comments came in his first television interview in seven months, in which he also declared the COVID-19 pandemic was officially over, and refused to comment on whether or not he planned to run for reelection in 2024.
