A climate campaigner invades the court at the ATP 500 men’s tennis final

At the ATP 500 Men’s Final in Halle, Germany this afternoon, a court invader attempted to tie himself to the net before being taken away by security.

At the end of the first performance, an unnamed woman ran onto the grass, wearing a T-shirt that said ‘three years left,’ an apparent reference to coming climate change.

She attempted to hook herself to the net, but was stopped by two strong guards.

It comes two weeks after a climate activist tied herself to the net during the Roland Garros men’s semi-final.
The proceedings were required to be halted for ten minutes as a result of this.

Despite the fact that the woman appears to be small-framed in today’s footage, the guards had a difficult time removing her.

One of the men fell twice in short succession while hauling her towards the court’s corner in a Laurel and Hardy-style operation.

The crowd in east-central Germany began to applaud and cheer as she was evicted, avoiding a lengthy delay.

One of the two guards stumbled over a couple of times before taking the woman off the court

No environmental organization has officially claimed responsibility for the protest.

A online link to a German climate organization appeared on the woman’s T-shirt.

After tying herself to the net at Roland Garros, a woman was able to send the players into the changing rooms for 10 minutes, effectively ending the court invasion.

Four men were required to escort her off the clay surface in that circumstance.

During the third set, her invasion of Court Phillipe-Chatrier went unopposed as she hooked herself to the net, throwing doubt on Roland Garros’ security.

The players left the court for ten minutes as the woman was separated, according to tournament director Amelie Mauresmo.

Everton’s game against Newcastle was momentarily halted in March after a supporter went onto the pitch and fastened himself to a goalpost while wearing a t-shirt that read “just stop oil.”

Just Stop Oil, a Twitter account, claimed responsibility for the hoax.

Another guard was needed to detain the woman - and did not have an easy time taking her off

‘Today, a teenage Just Stop Oil supporter ran onto the pitch during the Everton vs Newcastle match to call attention to the group’s demand that the government stop all new fossil fuel supply projects,’ they stated.

‘Louis, 21, was wearing a Just Stop Oil t-shirt when he locked on to the goalpost at Goodison Park, leading the referee to briefly stop play.’

During Arsenal’s match versus Liverpool at the Emirates in the same month, a different individual wearing a similar top attempted to attach himself to one of the posts.

On that particular occasion, the ground crew was able to keep the situation from spiraling out of control.
