Rafael Nadal ranks second in ATP behind Carlos Alcaraz

Paris — According to the ATP rankings revealed on Monday, Spain reigns supreme in men’s tennis, with Carlos Alcaraz keeping the No. 1 slot and Rafael Nadal climbing back up to second.

Casper Ruud’s quarterfinal elimination in Seoul, where he was the top seed, allowed Rafael Nadal (36) to move above of the Norwegian.

Novak Djokovic, winner of his third tournament of the year in Tel Aviv, remains sixth but earns 250 valuable points in the battle for the ATP Finals in Turin, his aim for the end of the season.

The Serb was competing in his first singles competition in Israel since winning his seventh Wimbledon title in July, and he may still collect points at the ATP tournament in Astana this week.

Marin Cilic moved up two positions, from sixteenth to fourteenth, as a result of reaching the final in Tel Aviv.
