Joanne Shreeves, the daughter of former Tottenham manager Peter Shreeves, has been given a community order after being found guilty of common assault, causing criminal damage, and one count of threatening behaviour in a retrial at Stratford Magistrates’ Court.
Shreeves, 51, had hurled wet cement, bricks, boulders, part of a kitchen cabinet, and a shovel-full of cement over her neighbour’s fence in a ‘hate campaign’ against Trevor Dempsey and his former partner Sandra Durdin, causing thousands of pounds worth of damage to their property.
On one occasion, Shreeves was caught on camera spitting and laughing at her neighbours.
The court was shown CCTV footage of Shreeves throwing the items from her luxury property in Chingford, east London, and attempting to destroy her neighbours’ cameras using a hose.
Mr Dempsey called the police, but Shreeves cancelled the request for officers to come to the scene.
The judge ridiculed Shreeves’ claim that the CCTV footage had been tampered with, saying that what was seen on the footage was a true representation. Shreeves bailed ahead of sentence on March 2.
Earlier, the defendant and her mother, Carol Shreeves, claimed they had suffered abuse and damage from Mr Dempsey and Ms Durdin.
During the proceedings, Shreeves was disruptive and said things to witnesses while they were giving evidence.
Shreeves was cleared of two further counts of threatening behaviour on June 27, 2021. The judge concluded that there was undisguised animosity between all the parties involved in the case.
