‘ISIS Beatle’ may face terror charges in Britain

After being detained at Luton airport after returning from Turkey in August, Aine Leslie Davis, 38, appeared at the Old Bailey on Friday for a preliminary hearing via video connection from HMP Belmarsh.

He might go on trial in the UK in February on allegations of possessing a weapon in violation of Section 57 of the Terrorism Act 2000 and two counts of supporting terrorism between 2013 and 2014.

With his wife, Amal El-Wahabi, he reportedly entered into an agreement where money was supposedly made accessible that may have been utilised for terrorist activities.

Davis, a native of West London, was wearing a grey prison sweater and limited his speaking to the short hearing to confirmation of his facts.

In order to guarantee the “quickest feasible date” for the case’s subsequent court hearings, Mr. Justice Sweeney said that it was crucial.

A provisional trial date of February 27 of the next year has been set, and a plea and trial preparation hearing will take place on December 23.
