The commission has revealed that it has enlisted the services of forensic experts to delve into the matter.

Muhuyi Rimingado, the Chairman of the anti-corruption body, spoke to the press and informed them of the progress being made in the investigation of the corruption allegations against the former governor.

Rimingado also refuted claims that the state anti-corruption body is incapable of handling the case.

The case against Ganduje was initially opened by the chairman of the Kano State anti-corruption body in June 2023.

The scandal emerged in 2018 when Daily Nigerian released a series of videos exposing the then-governor allegedly receiving kickbacks from contractors.

The revelation triggered public outrage and demands for further investigations into the matter.

Recently, Barrister Musa Abdullahi Lawal, a former Kano State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, referred to the alleged reopening of the dollar video case against former governor Abdullahi Ganduje as an act of ignorance.

Reports circulating at that time suggested that the reinstated Kano Anti-Corruption Commission boss, Barrister Muhyi Magaji Rimin Gado, might consider reopening the case.

However, on Tuesday, Chairman Rimingado confirmed that forensic experts have been employed to analyze the video footage and ascertain the truth behind the allegations.

The commission is determined to thoroughly investigate the matter and get to the bottom of it.
