Incredible clip shows people confronting phone muggers in Bishopsgate

This morning, an amazing video showing how “have-a-go heroes” attacked a masked gang robbing an innocent City worker and driving them away was released.

The astonishing sights, which were initially seen on social media footage, demonstrated the public’s unwavering bravery in the face of the terrible situations.

One of the women, who was wearing a long flowery dress and a lilac coat, intervened to protect a guy from one of the thieves who was about to assault him.

The lady, who is carrying a bag, pushes the guy off of one of the victims as he attempted to assault him once again.

Then, when he attempts to go, she pursues him and seems to chastise him while pointing to her arm, which he appears to have cut.

While this is happening, a courier wearing a red jacket can be seen springing into action while displaying steely nerves.

He can be seen pursuing one of the criminals as he attempts to flee on a bike, seizing him, and yanking him off the bike.

The crook’s companion attacks the hero, but the hero fights him off and holds him against a taxi before dumping him to the ground.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police are still looking for at least two individuals in connection with the incident in the City of London at approximately 9.45 a.m. that sent three persons to the hospital and prompted a large-scale emergency reaction.

Eyewitness accounts said that two robbers on electric bikes tried to take a worker’s cell phone before heroic bystanders intervened to try to stop it.

Shop owner Sayeed Dukanwala, 53, told the Times that he became aware of the event when he observed a guy sprint by his business while yelling “Oi! Oi!”

Two youths on a bike, according to Mr. Dukanwala, attempted to steal his phone. I believe [the victim] was attempting to attract attention. The lads’ features were hidden from view by helmets and scarves that covered their lips and noses.

I observed four or five individuals fighting at the traffic lights outside the building as I walked out of the store. One of the males on the bike sought to be stopped, but when they did, he took out a knife and began stabbing them.

In a previous interview with MailOnline, Mr. Dukanwala stated: “Something occurred to me last weekend; someone attacked me with a bottle inside my business. This region is exceedingly dangerous and frightful.

A contractor nearby said: “A middle-aged guy was defending himself against an attempt by a youngster to take his phone.” Another teenager—possibly two to four of them—got involved.

They rode electric bikes, I noticed. Then, things got worse. The middle-aged male was stabbed at that point. Then a white moped-riding north African man attempted to assist the white middle-aged male. He was stabbed in the back, shoulder, and maybe the chest.

Toby Hamand, 36, another eyewitness, recalled how one of the assailants attempted to stop him from fleeing by threatening him with a knife.

It was kind of split between the road and the sidewalk, he told The Telegraph. I moved a little closer to see what was happening since there were people around.

“I quite soon realized that there were two males with bandanas concealing their faces; I saw this pretty immediately.”

One of them mounted a bike that seemed to have been stolen. He mounted his bicycle. Before he could move, I kicked the wheel to, you know, keep him from fleeing.

The second man, who was also riding a bike, suddenly pointed a knife in my direction. I quickly said, “Okay, not going anywhere near this,” as he clutched it in his fist and lifted his hand to kind of display it to me. They just departed on their motorcycles after that.

After the stabbing, pictures of blood on the ground and an ambulance team tending to a victim surfaced.

It is the most recent event amid a plague of stabbings and knife crimes plaguing London and the rest of the UK. Without accounting for data from the City of London, 11,829 knife-related offenses have been reported in the city alone during the last 12 months. This is an increase of 10% above the same number for the prior 12 months.

Data from the Metropolitan Police shows that over the last year, the incidence of mobile phone thefts has increased by about 62%.

Rival gangs have committed recent high-profile homicides, including the 2017 murder of autistic 17-year-old Levi Ernest Morrison in south London.

It happens just a month after a machete-wielding gang attacked an east London birthday celebration, setting off a 100-person battle. Shea Gordon, age 17, died in the assault.

In a brutal stabbing that occurred in Leicester Square last month in broad daylight, three Metropolitan Police officers were also hurt, but they all made it out alive.

When the event occurred, the City of London police commented, “We are aware of an incident this morning on Bishopsgate.”

In addition to London Ambulance, our police are on the scene. There is now a cordon in place.

Later, they added: “Officers arrived to the area at 9.51am after we got allegations of three stabbings and a person being pushed to the ground on Bishopsgate at 9.46am.

The London Ambulance Service sent three patients to a nearby hospital for treatment; their wounds are not life-threatening.

The event is not being viewed as a terrorist-related crime, but two people are being sought as part of the continuing investigation into an attempted phone theft.

The City of London Police’s first aim is to stop phone thefts and bring offenders to justice. Due to concentrated efforts, including collaborating with partners in the Metropolitan Police Service last week to make multiple arrests, the number of phone grabs has decreased.

According to MailOnline, no arrests have yet been made, and police are aggressively looking for two individuals.

Seven City of London Police officers yesterday were manning a cordon that was around 50 meters long.

Medical supplies and clothes were visible within the police barrier, laid out on the ground in little heaps.

The doors of the 22 Bishopsgate building were still open, and employees could be seen coming and going from the space.

A person attempted to take someone’s phone, according to the proprietor of a neighboring store. People attempted to stop him when they heard screams, but he hit one of them, causing him to fall to the ground.

He stabbed the four other people who attempted to stop him. He pulled a knife out of his pocket and began stabbing as soon as he noticed those four men.

He said, “The cops showed about 10 or 15 minutes later, but by that time he had fled.” There must have been a camera outside that captured his image.

“The financial sector is no longer secure.” Teenage boys attacked my uncle in a store on Saturday.

During a phone snatching robbery in the city of London, an eyewitness claims he saw two or three teenagers on bicycles watching a middle-aged man before they grabbed him.

The knifeman, according to him, was donning a mask.

The employee, who wished to remain unnamed, stated: “I observed two or three youngsters on bicycles, and they were behind this middle-aged guy, who was dressed well, who was between the ages of 40 and 50.

“The next thing I saw was this adolescent grabbing this middle-aged man,” the witness said. Things got out of hand so soon.

‘Pedestrians intervened and tried to assist the middle-aged guy. I heard several yells and cries.

A guy on a white moped saw what was happening the following minute, hopped off, and became involved.

“These adolescents got into a fight.” The rider of the moped was suddenly stabbed. The middle-aged guy had already fallen to the ground after being stabbed, and another pedestrian had also been harmed, his skull having been cut. The young people then just left.

The mask, which he described as a fleece mask that people use to stay warm, was worn by the knifeman, he said.

Although it has not been officially verified, another eyewitness said that two of those who were stabbed were delivery drivers, and the suspects fled in the direction of Liverpool Street Station.

Unnamed MailOnline reader claims that his wife works close to the scene of the event and was entering the workplace when it happened.

He said that one of the muggers really punched the fourth person who was allegedly “pushed to the ground.”

He “didn’t go to hospital,” the witness said, “but went home from work since his face was seriously bruised and he was scared,” and that “plenty of blood was on the ground.”

White-suited forensic personnel could be seen searching the area for cues and photographing the scene of the stabbings.

We were alerted to reports of a stabbing in Bishopsgate at 9:52 am today, according to a tweet from London Ambulance.

Three ambulance crews, two advance paramedics, two incident response police, and our Tactical Response Unit were among the resources we provided.

Four patients were treated by our personnel. Three were admitted to the hospital, and one was released.

Sadiq Khan, the mayor of London, said that he is “working with” the City of London police and that he received “an update right soon.”

Due to the fact that it was unrelated to terrorism and that none of the three stabbing victims’ conditions were life-threatening, he told Bauer Media that the situation was “excellent news.”

It serves as a reminder of the risks involved with carrying a knife. I’m not at all relaxed. I believe it’s critical to be tough on both police and the many causes of crime.

He said that so far this year, both the number of youth killings and the number of knife-related injuries in London had decreased.

In the previous 12 months, police in London received reports of more than 9,000 phone thefts. Added to it are the 37,150 thefts.

The City of London is not included in this statistics.

Insurance companies Hiscox and Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance Limited, as well as legal firms like Cooley LLP and Covington & Burling LLP, are among the businesses housed under the structure.

Terrorism has thus far been ruled out by police. They said that a video that was extensively circulated on social media and purported to show the assailant being apprehended had nothing to do with the actual occurrence.

According to a police source, the event “appears to be an attempted phone grab.” MailOnline.

Three bystanders who interfered suffered injuries. Two people were slashed, and one was stabbed. Their wounds, nevertheless, are not life-threatening.

There doesn’t seem to be a connection to terrorism, he continued.

After learning about the stabbing in Bishopsgate, Charlotte Wright, a 26-year-old administrator from Colchester who works close by, said she was afraid.

She saw the emergency services hurrying to the area as she walked to work.

‘I noticed a bunch of ambulances coming past me, which was odd, since I was going into my workplace at around 9.45 in the morning,’ Ms. Wright said.

I also heard a lot of police vehicles. It wasn’t until they were very near my building that I saw all the blue lights and realized they were going there. There was a large throng in the vicinity. There was a lot of talking and uncertainty, giving the impression of a somber environment. I realized what I had seen when my brother gave me an article outlining what had transpired.

She said, “When I received the text from my brother, I immediately realized that it was far more serious than I could have ever anticipated.

“I feel somewhat uneasy and terrified when I go outside to buy my lunch, but I also feel very comfortable and protected.” I am aware of how crowded London is, but I also know that if anything were to happen, heroes would be ready to act, just like the men who stepped in during this tragedy.

Sir Keir Starmer said when asked by reporters whether London was secure under Mayor Sadiq Khan: “I saw the news of the stabbings come through and clearly, that’s profoundly disturbing for all of us.”

Our thoughts must be with the victims and everyone else impacted.

“I do believe that in order to lessen the crime rates across London, we need a coordinated approach to all of this.” That is a common obligation amongst us all.

But there is no escaping the reality that this Government has reduced the number of police officers over the last 12 years.

Yes, they are currently replacing some of them, but not all of the ones that were removed.

“All roads go back to the Government, therefore I don’t believe the Government can just claim this is someone else’s responsibility.”

The Metro quoted Andrea Silva as saying, “I did not witness anything happen. Observing from a bus.

The victims were concealed by a white screen, although there was some blood visible. Numerous paramedics around a patient on the ground. That is all I noticed.

The Evening Standard was informed by a second eyewitness that fatalities were “hidden behind a white screen.”

As the patients were being taken to the hospital, pictures from the scene reveal abandoned London Ambulance medical kits.

‘Just witnessed maybe four critically wounded persons on the side of the road near Bishopsgate travelling past on the bus,’ another user said.

Nickie Aiken, a local MP, expressed her concern after the Bishopsgate incident. For updates, I’m in touch with City Police. All those affected, particularly the first responders, are in my thoughts.

This is outside of Mayor Sadiq Khan of London’s purview since the event occurred within the City of London.

‘We are aware of a disturbing event that occurred this morning on Bishopsgate, near our building, and our security team assisted the police and emergency services with any required help while they were on site,’ a spokeswoman for 22 Bishopsgate said.

“We promptly conducted a dynamic risk assessment and found no direct danger to the building; as a result, we have neither locked down the facility or blocked access to entrances.”

Numerous horrible stabbings have occurred in England in recent weeks, including this most recent one. In the wee hours of Tuesday, a 14-year-old boy was fatally stabbed in Gateshead.

As a “shy” six-year-old, talented player Tomasz Oleszak left Poland for the UK in search of “a better life.”

Tomasz, who spent much of his youth on the Springwell estate with his mother Kamila Wisniewska and his baby brother, was referred to by those who knew him as “a friend to so many.”

Following a failed attempt to steal 200 plants, two thieves were sentenced to life in jail on Monday after fatally stabbing a cannabis grower’s father and injuring his sibling.

West London’s Hounslow was the scene of the assault in March of last year.

And a 16-year-old teenager who recorded himself fatally stabbing a 15-year-old youngster in June has been sentenced to at least 13 years in prison.

Zasheem Kane Ontre Moses, meantime, was fatally stabbed on London’s Tottenham High Road only last week. Before being transported to the hospital, 19-year-old Zasheem passed away in the hands of paramedics.

We’re updating this story.
