Drake, already one of Young Thug’s biggest supporters in the rap world, reaffirms his unshakable support for the incarcerated rapper on a new song from his upcoming album For All the Dogs. On Thursday (August 31), snippets of the unreleased song surfaced online, with Drizzy rapping about giving up his freedom to go to jail with the head of YSL.
Over the driving, bouncy instrumental, he raps, “I should probably be in there with Thug and them.”

DJ Akademiks (@akademiks) shared this.

As part of a lengthy RICO investigation into his YSL (Young Slime Life) gang, Young Thug has been incarcerated since May 2022, along with 26 other persons (including Gunna). Later, much to the dismay of his YSL and musical peers, Gunna pled his way out of jail.

Prosecutors in Fulton County, Georgia, have labeled the group a “criminal street gang” and blamed them for a slew of violent crimes committed in the Greater Atlanta Area. Eight charges have been leveled on Thug, including possession of illegal firearms and drugs, membership in a criminal street gang, and conspiracy to break the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act.
The judge has denied bond for Thug four times already, citing concerns that he is a flight risk and hence should remain in jail.
