In his first post-scandal interview, Armie Hammer admits to suicidal ideation

In his first interview post-scandal, Armie Hammer finally broke his silence on misbehavior charges, confessing that he considered suicide due to the response.

“I just walked out into the ocean and swam out as far as I could and hoped I drowned, was hit by a boat, or was eaten by a shark,” the troubled actor, who was residing in the Cayman Islands in February 2021 to avoid media scrutiny, told Air Mail.

“I then realized that my children were still on land, and I could not do that to them.”

Hammer, who shares two children, Harper, 8, and Ford, 6, with his ex-wife Elizabeth Chambers, is the subject of an ongoing LAPD rape investigation. Multiple women accused him of sexual misbehavior in January 2021, disclosing his purported cannibalistic fetishism and BDSM obsessions.

“These women were in their mid-20s, and I’m in my 30s,” he claimed, referring to the age difference in his connections with the alleged victims.

“I was an accomplished actress at the time. They could have been content with just being with me and would have agreed to things they otherwise would not have. There is an imbalance of power in this circumstance.”

While fiercely denying any criminal activity, the “Call Me By Your Name” actor revealed to the site that he had been emotionally abusive to prior girlfriends he met online.

Hammer, 36, said, “I’m here to own my mistakes, to take responsibility for the fact that I was an a–hole, selfish, and that I used people to make myself feel better before moving on.”

“I am currently healthier, happier, and more balanced. “I’m able to be more present for my children than ever before,” he continued. “I am profoundly appreciative for my life, my rehabilitation, and everything. I would not reverse everything that has happened to me.”

Hammer said in the lengthy interview that a youth pastor sexually raped him when he was 13 years old. He believes that the horrific event was the cause of his own perverted thoughts later in life.

“That brought sexuality into my life in a way that was utterly beyond my control. I had no control over the circumstances. “I had no control over the circumstance,” he explained.

“I was introduced to sexuality in a terrifying manner in which I had no control. My interests shifted to wanting sexual control over the scenario.”

As previously reported by Page Six, Hammer has maintained a low profile ever since many women made charges of sexual abuse and inappropriate behavior.

In response to the reaction, the star of “Social Network” was dropped by his personal publicist, along with his old agency, WME, and other projects were terminated.

Chambers, with whom he had been married for ten years, filed for divorce months before the controversy became public. In September 2022, the creator of Bird Bakery told E! News that their relationship is “in a really great place” and that they communicate frequently.

Chambers, age 40, adding, “We are committed completely to our children.” And to spending as much time as possible with our children in a non-romantic manner.

Hammer told Air Mail that he now finds meaning in serving as a sober buddy to a recovering addict he recently met on his sobriety path.

“I’m going to move in with him and live with him, get him into a healthy routine and a good schedule of [recovery] meetings, take him to the gym, and cook healthy food for him,” he said. My sobriety-maintenance demands have subsided, and I am now in a position to assist others in their recovery.
