Wednesday marked the passing of Helen Slayton-Hughes, best known for her role as Ethel Beavers on “Parks and Recreation.” She was 92 years old.

Helen passed away yesterday night, her family announced in a statement posted to her Facebook page on Thursday. “Her suffering has ceased, but her ferocity remains”

Her family thanked all of her followers who have supported her profession throughout the years.

“Thank you for your support and affection for her and her work. Rest sweet one. – With love, the Hughes family,” the family’s letter concluded.

Despite references to “her suffering,” her cause of death was not immediately apparent.

Along with the statement, her family released a touching video montage of Slayton-Hughes’ decades-long acting career, which included a quotation from the late actress: “I adore performing drama, but I’m always hired to do comedy.

Fans filled the comments area with sorrow and tributes to commemorate her memory.

She was 92 years old.

“She was an exceptional person and actress. One fan remarked, “I initially knew her as Ethel Beavers, and she brought so much humor into my home through that role.”

“I deeply regret your loss. I became a fan of Helen later in her career after seeing her on Parks and Recreation. Helen gave a great deal of joy and humor to the world, and she will be greatly missed. I am thinking of Helen’s family during this difficult time,” remarked a second individual.

“I am terribly sad to hear that. We gave our dog the name Ethel Beavers because we adored the character, and I was always thrilled to see Helen in different roles,” said another.

In addition to Amy Poehler, Rashida Jones, Adam Scott, Aubrey Plaza, and Chris Pratt, Slayton-Hughes performed the recurring character of the caustic and well-liked court stenographer Ethel Beavers on the NBC sitcom.

Her career as an actress spans decades.

She has appeared in numerous films and television series, such as “He’s All That,” “New Girl,” “Veronica Mars,” “Parenthood,” “Pretty Little Liars,” “Desperate Housewives,” “That’s So Raven,” “Malcolm in the Middle,” and “Power Rangers Time Force.”

1930-born Slayton-Hughes is a native of New Jersey. According to IMDB, Peter Dinklage is a once-removed first cousin.
