Health workers on strike over stagnant pay in UK

Today, strikes are ongoing across the UK as workers, including ambulance staff and DVLA employees, walk out to protest against stagnant pay and poor working conditions.

In Northern Ireland, social care workers and health professionals, represented by union Unite, are participating in their final day of strike action due to the effects of inflation on wages.

Health staff have been off work for a week but are still answering critical calls.

In Liverpool, DWP staff are on strike, and in Swansea and Birmingham, DVLA staff are also walking out over pay.

Civil servants who are part of the Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS) will continue their walkout until the weekend, with DWP employees at various job centres taking their 14th day of job action over pay, pensions, job security, and redundancy terms.

DVLA staff in Swansea and Birmingham are also on strike for six days.
