“Having kids involved in this is wrong,” Gov. Ron DeSantis says

According to CBS Miami’s Najahe, the Ron DeSantis administration has lodged a complaint against the R House restaurant in Miami’s Wynwood neighbourhood.

The state claims that the restaurant exposes minors to sexually explicit behaviour through its drag shows.

Videos and pictures of kids at drag shows are at the heart of the debate.

In its Tuesday-filed complaint, the DeSantis administration claims that the weekend Drag Show Brunches expose minors to “sexually explicit drag shows.”

“It’s inappropriate to involve children in this. The attempt to sexualize these young people is contrary to Florida law and policy, and it is a troubling trend in our society “DeSantis said.

An investigation was launched by the Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

You have 21 days to respond, R House. If it is found to be in violation of local laws and codes, it risked losing its liquor licence. That might make R House unprofitable.

Mothers have told CBS4 they disagree with the decision.

According to Maria Hernandez, who spoke to CBS Miami, “If the mother is allowing (the child) to see the show, I think it’s very good because of diversity.”

“I believe the parent should decide. The governor shouldn’t be telling people how to raise their children, in my opinion “To the station, Alexis Walker made a comment.

The Miami Herald received a statement from R House ownership that said, in part, “We are aware of the complaint and are currently working with the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, through our attorney, to resolve the situation.” R House ownership declined to comment on the investigation.
