Keep calm, everyone: Harry Styles is open to a One Direction reunion.
The 28-year-old is having a monster of a career right now, with his third solo album dominating the charts and lead single As It Was smashing records all over the place.
He’s also starring in a number of high-profile future projects, including one for which he’s been nominated for an Academy Award.
Despite this, Harry hasn’t forgotten where he came from, and he may be feeling a little nostalgic as he recalls his days with One Direction.
In a new interview, the Watermelon Sugar singer stated that he would welcome a 1D reunion, but that it must happen at the proper time.
Harry said on a new episode of the Spout Podcast that he doesn’t know how he feels about the band getting back together, but that ‘the concept of it is incredibly pleasant.’
‘I’d love for there to be a time where it felt like something we all wanted to do,’ he added.
‘I think we all went through something really special together, and there’s a lot of love there.’
He went on – allowing hope to unfurl in Directioners’ hearts once again – ‘Yeah, I think if there’s a moment for us to do it in the right way, I think it’d be great.’
While we’d all love to see Harry, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, and Louis Tomlinson perform together again, it doesn’t appear that this will happen anytime soon.
Liam recently raised eyebrows when he revealed details of his time in 1D on a podcast with Logan Paul, alleging that he and Louis ‘hated’ each other and confessing that he disliked’many things’ about Zayn.
But it hasn’t all been a worry for the Directioners recently, as Zayn posted a video to Instagram of himself singing that insanely high note in One Direction’s famous song You and I.
Fans were even more enraged when they learned that the clip had been liked by none other than Louis, causing some to believe that a reunion could happen at any time.
But, for the time being, Harry is focused on his solo business and his acting career, with the first teaser for his next feature My Policeman set to premiere on Wednesday.
It portrays the narrative of a gay police officer in the 1950s, played by Harry, who falls in love with a guy and attempts to reconcile his feelings while married to a woman.
When Harry’s character falls in love with a museum curator in Brighton in the 1950s, when being gay was outlawed, he struggles with his sexuality.
The singer also appears in the thriller Don’t Worry Darling, opposite Florence Pugh, in which a seemingly idyllic small village is found to be concealing a sinister truth.
