In light of the ever-present threat of kidnapping, Elon Musk’s father has revealed that his son has installed new high-tech security systems at his South African residence.
In December, contractors arrived at the property of Errol Musk, a 76-year-old retired engineer, in Langebaan, 90 miles north of Cape Town.
He described the new security measures as “first-rate,” adding that he did not enjoy living in a fortress, but was accustomed to it, having previously resided in crime-ridden Johannesburg and Pretoria.
Musk murdered three armed intruders while his then-six-year-old daughter Ali clung to his leg in 1998.
He told The Sun that televisions had been stolen from his home four times in the past year alone.
He remarked, “Frankly, the risk of something bad happening or literally being shot is quite high.”
I will not be participating in any open-air vehicle parades, to put it plainly.
If someone wanted to kill me, it wouldn’t be difficult, so hopefully they won’t.

Errol’s son believed he was susceptible and concerned that kidnappers may make the “quickest $20 million dollars in history” by targeting his family.

“After recent threats against him, he determined that I also require protection,” Errol told The Sun.

This security company informed me in December that they have been instructed to safeguard the residence.

Now 70 years old, Maye resides in New York City, her eighth city in three countries.
