Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu congratulates Senator Oluremi Tinubu on her 62nd birthday

On the occasion of her 62nd birthday, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State honoured Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the senator representing Lagos Central Senatorial District and former First Lady of Lagos State.

In a statement released on Tuesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, Governor Sanwo-Olu said Senator Tinubu has earned a reputation as an advocate for social justice, a philanthropist, and a voice for the voiceless.

Senator Tinubu, who served as the First Lady of Lagos State from May 29, 1999, to May 29, 2007, and who has represented the Lagos Central Senatorial District in the Senate since 2011, will be 62 on Wednesday, September 21.

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the wife of All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader and presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has contributed enormously to nation-building, according to Lagos State Governor Sanwo-Olu.

Sanwo-Olu said that Senator Tinubu is a strong supporter, dependable partner, and pillar of support for Asiwaju Tinubu, adding that the former Lagos State First Lady’s pet initiatives, Spelling Bee and the New Era Foundation, have become a standard in women and youth development in the nation.

The Governor said that the three-term senator’s commendable programmes and accomplishments as former First Lady and as a lawmaker have contributed immeasurably to humanity, government, and the governing party’s prosperity, progress, and development.

He said: “On behalf of my wife, Ibijoke and the good people of Lagos State, I heartily congratulate the distinguished Senator Oluremi Tinubu on the occasion of her 62nd birthday.

“Over the years, you have written your name in gold as an advocate of social justice, a philanthropist and a voice of the voiceless. And through your pet projects, Spelling Bee and the New Era Foundation, you’ve become a reference point in women and youth development in the country.

“You have played critical roles in the growth and development of Lagos State and Nigeria, thereby setting examples for other women in leadership and governance. Your input in national growth as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is a pragmatic testament to visionary leadership.

“You are a good ambassador of Lagos State and we are proud of your achievements in the Senate as one of the most active, visible, and vocal legislators in the Red Chamber.

“On this 62nd birthday, I pray for continued God’s guidance, good health, and more of your service to humanity, Lagos, and our country.”
