Gold horse-drawn carriages were during Rico Burton’s funeral

Today, Tyson Fury’s cousin’s family, friends, and the travelling community grieved his passing as they accompanied the casket in a traditional gold, red, and green horse-drawn carriage as it was taken to his funeral.

On Sunday, August 21, early in the morning, Rico Burton, 31, was fatally stabbed outside a pub in Altrincham, Greater Manchester.

The 21-year-old Liam O’Prey has been accused of killing him.

Today, at a liturgy at St. Michael’s Church in Urmston, Rico’s family and friends said a tearful farewell to him.

On carriages and trailers, mourners gathered for the funeral, many of them were wearing T-shirts with his face on the front. Mr. Burton’s casket was dragged by a horse to the funeral.

On Rico’s last voyage, dozens of people trailed behind, some of whom sat near to the coffin.

After Mr. Burton passed away, tributes flooded in, headed by the boxer’s well-known cousin, Tyson Fury.

Following the terrible murder of his cousin, the Wythenshawe-born, two-time world heavyweight champion posted on his social media accounts calling for a stop to knife violence.

After being stabbed in the neck outside a pub in Altrincham, Greater Manchester, Mr. Burton, who had formerly been a top junior boxer, died at approximately 3.30am.

Witnesses said that paramedics tried frantically to revive Mr. Rico, but the hospital ruled him dead.

The Gypsy King and two-time world champion Fury urged the government to “bring back heavier sentences” in response to the “pandemic” of knife violence.

The boxer posted a message on Instagram saying, “My cousin was killed, stabbed in the neck.” “This is absurd; fools carry knives,” I thought. This has to end.

You don’t realise how severe a problem is until it affects one of your own, hence the UK government has to introduce harsher punishments for knife crimes ASAP.

RIP Ricardo Burton I’ll see you soon, and may the Lord God give you a nice seat in heaven.

With the hashtag “only cowards carry firearms,” he concluded his message.

While on vacation with his father, John, and wife, Paris, in Menorca, Fury, 34, is said to have learned the heartbreaking news.

According to authorities, a 17-year-old kid who was also stabbed in the incident and is thought to be a relative has “life-changing injuries.”

The Greater Manchester Police reported that a 21-year-old male had been detained on assault suspicion at the scene.

His murder and a number of other offences have been accused of by Liam O’Prey, 21, of no permanent address.

Police were looking into whether a prior disagreement had contributed to the deadly stabbing, according to Superintendent Ben Ewart.

According to others, it could have been the resolution of a protracted argument between two families from the travelling community.

Salutations came in for Mr. Burton, a roofer who competed in boxing until he was 19 years old.

Former coach of Mr. Burton and Fury, Steve Egan, expressed his devastation.

The 60-year-old said that Mr. Burton had won two junior national championships. He said, “He was a terrific dude… he was such a tremendous boxer.”

Before leaving for Altrincham on Saturday, Mr. Burton had watched British heavyweight Anthony Joshua’s defeat to Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk at the Church Inn in Flixton. According to locals, the incident happened close to King Pong pub.

From what I’ve heard, there was just a little altercation, Mr. Egan said. Other males attempted to enter a club, but they were turned away.

Rico was only attempting to diffuse the conflict; it wasn’t with him. After everything had been resolved, the man suddenly stabbed them. It is absurd and utterly pointless.

Two males were abruptly on the ground while a few men were fighting outside, according to a witness.

Although everything transpired so quickly, the reason for the fight is unknown.

Local resident Michael Edwards said that around 3.30 am, emergency cars woke him up.

Anyone who may have seen the incident is urged to contact the Greater Manchester Police.

Knife crime in England and Wales increased 10% in March of this year compared to the same month the previous year, according to recent statistics.
