ABU DHABI, 6th July, 2022 (WAM) — Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, said the hosting of the Global Media Congress in Abu Dhabi, under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, is a message of peace and compassion from the UAE to the entire world.
In his statement to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), he stressed that the congress will help confirm the role of media outlets in promoting cooperation, understanding and tolerance between communities, as well as in raising people’s awareness and enhancing their knowledge, enabling them to be good citizens capable of positively interacting with the new era’s requirements.
Media outlets are efficient tools for promoting the principles of tolerance, coexistence and human fraternity among the community and the entire world, he added, noting that these principles made the UAE a pioneering international model of peaceful coexistence and pluralism, by ensuring that everyone can participate in the development process.
The UAE’s people and leadership, headed by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan are keen to develop positive ties with everyone and promote communication and compassion between the world’s residents, Sheikh Nahyan stressed, expressing his hope for the success of the Global Media Congress, which is an important step towards shaping a successful future for the media sector, and making media outlets the tools for promoting communication, addressing ignorance and combatting stereotypes, as well as a key platform where everyone can exchange ideas and initiatives that will shape a peaceful future.
Sheikh Nahyan lauded the hosting of the Global Media Congress in Abu Dhabi and welcomed all participants, wishing them a good stay in the UAE.
