In an effort to prioritize environmental sustainability, the organizers of Glastonbury Festival have requested that attendees refrain from bringing disposable vapes to the event.

The festival, known for its iconic status, is set to take place later this month, and the organizers have updated their lists of permitted and prohibited items accordingly. Disposable vapes were available for purchase on-site during the previous year.

The updated guidance explicitly states, “Do not bring disposable vapes.

They pollute the environment and can be hazardous at waste centers.”

However, it remains unclear whether vapes will be confiscated if found during the event, and requests for clarification on the festival’s policy have been made.

Disposable electronic vapes contain materials that are pollutants and do not fully decompose.

They fall under the category of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE).

Although these vapes can technically be recycled, the process is challenging and not widely accessible.

Glastonbury Festival has always been committed to promoting sustainability and prides itself on fostering a green environment.

In line with these principles, festival-goers are also being urged not to bring non-biodegradable body glitter, minimize excess packaging, and avoid the use of disposable wipes.

Scheduled to run from June 21 to 25, Glastonbury Festival will feature headline performances by Arctic Monkeys on Friday, followed by Guns N’ Roses and Elton John on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

The lineup includes various other notable acts such as Lizzo, Christine And The Queens, Fatboy Slim, Lana Del Rey, Lewis Capaldi, Lil Nas X, Maneskin, Rudimental, Manic Street Preachers, The War On Drugs, and Royal Blood.
