Glastonbury Festival: location, postcode, site map and parking information

Glastonbury Festival: location, postcode, site map and parking information

The Glastonbury Festival will reopen its gates next week for the first time in three years, and with a train strike looming, more festivalgoers are anticipated to drive to the venue.

Because campers who drive to the area are likely to encounter heavy traffic, it’s important to prepare ahead and make sure you know exactly where you need to go.

However, once you arrive in Glasto, you’ll need a safe place to park your car, and parking spaces are scarce. That is, unless you have reserved a parking spot ahead of time.

With the deadline for securing one of Glastonbury’s official parking places approaching on Wednesday, we’ve compiled a list of recommendations to help you get organized before setting up camp for five days.

Where is the location of Glastonbury Festival and what is the postcode?

The Glastonbury Festival takes place at Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset.

The Glastonbury site does not have a specific postcode, but the organizers have offered a couple of other postcodes to enable you arrive to a spot where you can then follow signage to the event.

The postcode TA11 7DP is recommended for drivers on the A303 and A37.

Drivers coming from Wales on the A39 or the North West on the A361 should use BA6 9XE in their GPS, while those coming from Swindon or local traffic on the A361 should use BA4 4LY.

You should notice signs directing you to the festival site once you get at the destination of any of those postcodes, and you should follow them to the car park.

Parking information for the Glastonbury Festival

Those who prefer to go by automobile will need to prepare early, as train strikes are expected to cause considerable disruptions during the festival season.

The most practical way to ensure a parking spot is to pay £50 on Glastonbury’s seetickets page, but you’d better hurry because you only have until Wednesday, June 15 to do so.

If you miss the deadline, you can still acquire a spot by paying £50 at the gate on the day of the event, but it’ll be first-come, first-served.

To prevent longer lines, festivalgoers are encouraged to come on the right side of where their assigned car park is located (East or West).

The car parks will open at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21, to allow cars to arrive at a less congested time of day, but the festival gates will not open until 8 a.m. on Wednesday.

Drivers must follow the P signs to find their nearest parking spaces, and you will not have much of a say in where you are placed in the parking lot. (Make a mental note of the route color and car park numbers so you don’t waste time looking for your car when it’s time to return home).

The festival license issued to the farm expires at 5 p.m. on Monday, so organizers have asked attendees to leave the parking lots by then or face a fine from the authorities.

What is the site map for Glastonbury?

The Glastonbury Festival is held on a massive location at Worthy Farm, with a remarkable 203,000 people attending the most recent event in 2019.

It is now granted a maximum capacity of 210,000, which could change in the future as the number of guests grows.

The grounds comprise several significant locations, such as the main stages, campgrounds, bathrooms, cash machines, water kiosks, bars, and medical tents.
