On Monday, October 24, pricing adjustments for on-street paid parking in Seattle will go into effect at various sites. This seasonal adjustment is part of our standard procedure to ensuring sufficient parking spaces are available, based on the most recent parking usage statistics and seasonal patterns. These parking charge adjustments are normally made three times per year, in the spring, summer, and fall.
Rates remain generally low at numerous places. We are modifying 36 rates out of a total of 90 places and times, including 6 fee cuts at areas where parking capacity is not as full as it was in early summer, and 30 rate increases when parking capacity is full or almost full.
In two-thirds of locations and times of the day, parking fees are either steady or falling. Primarily in the morning, the most usual rate is still $0.50 per hour. Afternoons and nights continue to be the busiest and have the largest pricing hikes.
