“This morning, I observed something incredible that our Rome High School football boys performed,” posted math instructor Luis Goya on Facebook. Goya, who works at the school in Rome, Georgia, saw a group of valiant adolescents rescue the life of a lady.
“While on morning duty in front of the school, I heard a tremendous boom at the junction that sounded like a collision,” he writes. Goya said that he raced to the junction and found two automobiles engaged, one of which had a lady who was unable to exit.
He said, “The door was stuck and in poor condition.” While I was on the phone with the 911 operator, the football players who observed the collision went to the vehicle and began assisting the woman.
“They actually began using their muscle to force through the door in order to free the woman,” Goya wrote. “After a few seconds of straining and pushing, the males eventually opened the door and helped her exit the vehicle. She was trembling and still terrified, but our RHS lads were able to console and assist her.”
These children have been identified as Cesar Parker, Treyvon Adams, Antwiion Carey, Messiah Daniels, Tyson Brown, and Alton Moore by the school. A spokesperson of the school acknowledged that Goya was there and phoned 911 during the rescue and confirmed that he teaches ninth grade.
“Today, the Rome High School football team truly came to play. Without hesitation, they went above and above to assist this woman “Goya remarked.
Assistant Chief Debbie Burnett of the Rome Police Department said that the lady swerved to avoid colliding with a vehicle that had turned in front of her. After colliding with another vehicle, numerous Rome High School football players rushed to her aid since she was unable to exit her vehicle. Burnett said that the motorist at fault was 16 years old.
Burnett said that the lady was transferred to a nearby hospital with “minimal injuries” after being rescued by the teenagers.
