Four people have allegedly been stabbed after a knife-wielding man went on a rampage

A man with a knife allegedly went on the attack on a New Zealand beach, stabbing four people in the process.

After being reportedly attacked by the man on Thursday morning, four residents of Murrays Bay and Mairangi Bay in Auckland’s North Shore were taken to the hospital with “moderate” wounds.

After a local construction worker struck the alleged knife-wielder with a walking crutch, the rampage is thought to have come to an end.

He was later arrested, and a huge kitchen knife was also discovered in Mairangi Bay on a road.

Police said the man who was allegedly hitting people randomly while brandishing a knife was a local.

Before he fled to Murrays Bay, the man is said to have started stabbing individuals at Mairangi Bay.

Superintendent Naila Hassan, the district commander for Waitemat, stated that the victims’ varied ages and genders did not indicate that it was a “hate crime.”

She stated that the suspected assailant was in possession of “quite a huge knife.”

She told reporters, “From what we know so far, this was not a premeditated occurrence, this was a spontaneous attack.” She said that the perpetrator had sustained moderate injuries.

While the man recovered in the hospital, she declared that charges would ‘definitely’ be filed.

“I really need to recognize the bravery of those members of the public who interfered to bring this to an end,” Ms. Hassan said. “It could have been a lot worse.”

According to a nearby cafe owner, a woman was allegedly being attacked at the bus stop directly across from his business.

He claimed that after stabbing one couple, the suspected attacker attacked another couple on Murrays Bay beach before fleeing and being captured by bystanders.

A second woman claimed to have witnessed the man allegedly attempting to stab a 17-year-old girl who managed to flee.

He stabbed two people at random, and everything happened very rapidly, according to her.
