Former Love Island star Amy Day claims the show is fake

Amy Day, a former Love Island contestant, said before entering the villa that she thought the show would be “a lot more fun than it was.”

The 25-year-old reality actress was on the hit yearly dating show in the 2021 season, where she was paired with fellow islander Hugo Hammond.

Things swiftly deteriorated when the couple was ejected from the island, with Hugo stating that his love life on the program had been ‘tragic,’ with Amy standing directly beside him.

‘I wish I knew how fake it was, everything was fake,’ Amy said when asked what she wishes she had known before the show.

‘It was more than what I thought before I went in, I wasn’t stupid I went in knowing this is a game show but I thought I’d be able to wake up at 8am and go for a swim, have a coffee.’

She told the Daily Star, ‘They don’t control you, but they manipulate you.’

It’s been five days, and Love Island 2022 has not disappointed when it comes to drama.

The trailers for the next episode, along with narrator Iain Stirling’s booming, frightening uttering of the phrase “Tomorrow night,” have been missing thus far.

Some of the most dramatic moments on the show have occurred during tomorrow night previews, such as when Maura Higgins admitted she was crushing hard on Curtis Pritchard, much to everyone’s surprise.

Then, in last year’s series, Toby Aromolaran began out as a relationship with Kaz Kamwi, then moving on to Chloe Burrows, Abigail Rawlings, and Mary Bedford until, in a shocking twist, one of the previews for the next episode showed he was still in love with Chloe.

However, Gemma Owen’s ex-boyfriend, who is believed to be rugby star Jacques O’Neill, will be entering the villa on Sunday night, according to the preview from yesterday’s show.
