This is the horrible moment in which a male NYPD detective hit a lady so hard in the face that she fell to the ground.
Elvin James, 22, was sought in connection with an August 12 murder, and Detective Kendo D. Kincey and his colleagues tried to apprehend him on W136 Street in Harlem at 5 p.m. on Tuesday.
The NYPD informed DailyMail.com that the suspect was discovered with a loaded pistol and a huge quantity of controlled narcotics, and that when they sought to arrest him, a number of persons attacked them.
The clip depicted a violent scenario in which a swarm of cops fought with a gathering of individuals outside a Harlem apartment complex.
As authorities held one individual, the audience could be heard shouting, and it looked like a brawl broke out between the officers and a member of the crowd.
Then, a slender lady wearing a skirt rushed into the turmoil and started communicating with the arrested guy.
Officer Kinsey attempted to force the lady out of the throng by pushing her in the head with his arm.
The lady hit Kinsey on the arm, and he retaliated by striking her in the face so hard that she fell to the ground and sprawled on her back.
It was unclear if the lady smacked her head on the pavement, but she was seen stunned and gripping her face with both hands as the mob yelled at Kinsey, ‘Why’d you do that? She’s just a little girl!’
Then, Kinsey and another officer quietly assisted the lady to her feet, handcuffed her, and walked her away with a blank look on her face.
Tamani Crum, 19, and Faith Harrell, 27, were also detained on charges of assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest, according to the NYPD.
A 26-year-old woman was issued a court summons for spitting on a police officer.
It is unknown who of these ladies Kinsey hit on the video, but according to the New York Daily News, it was Crum, who was identified as James’ girlfriend.
In 2005, Kinsey started serving as a police officer with the NYPD. In 2021, he became a detective specialist and is assigned to the 32nd Precinct.
The NYPD did not comment on whether or not disciplinary action was taken against Kinsey or whether or not it approved of his use of force.
Kinsey told the Daily Beast he was ‘very much aware’ of the tape but refused to comment more.
