The 36-year-old world leader looks to be in high spirits in the video, which appears to take place in a private residence, as the group dances for a mobile phone camera.
The release of the boisterous footage comes only months after Marin was forced to apologize for clubbing until 4 a.m. after contracting Covid-19.
She was criticized for missing the text message instructing her to isolate herself because she left her work phone, which, as prime minister, she was required to carry at all times, at home.
The embarrassing video, acquired from the Instagram stories of a private account, claims to reveal Finland’s prime minister and her circle of famous pals entirely unguarded.
It is unknown when the video was shot or why the prime minister and her friends were celebrating.
Finnish singer Alma and her sister Anna, rapper Petri Nygard, TV host Tinni Wikstrom, photographer and influencer Janita Autio, radio anchor Karoliina Tuominen, and members of her own Social Democratic party can be seen in the film.
Those in Finland who deem the humorous film to be unsuitable for a world leader, especially during a time of national emergency when Finland is ending its neutrality to join NATO and contending with an aggressive Russia, have criticized the video.
This week, the German tabloid Bild branded Marin “the coolest politician in the world” for her laid-back and unpretentious style of leadership, which some opponents have criticized as “careless.”
In the video, the group is heard singing “f*** it feels so good” and shouting “jauhojengi,” which is Finnish for “flour.” Additionally, it is a slang name for cocaine.
A man appears to swish an alcoholic beverage past the camera as the beat drops and Marin and her pals dance furiously.
In 2019, at the age of 34, Marin became one of the youngest world leaders and the youngest prime minister in Finland’s history.
In addition to Katrin Jakobsdottir of Iceland, Magdalena Andersson of Sweden, Mette Frederiksen of Denmark, and Kaja Kallas of Estonia, she is part of a growing trend of Scandinavian women in leadership positions.

As the newest prong in the economic war being waged against Putin, Marin and her Estonian counterpart, Kaja Kallas, have called for an EU-wide ban on visas for Russian nationals.
Finland is already intending to reduce the amount of visas it gives to Russians, as the land border between the two countries is one of the few entrance sites for Russians into Europe following the closure of airspace by a number of Western nations.
