Blenheim Palace, located in Oxfordshire, was used as a substitute for Buckingham Palace in the show.
Although the real-life King George and Queen Charlotte lived in Kew Palace, these scenes were shot in Belton House in Lincolnshire.
The production team chose this location because Kew Palace was too small for filming.
The series opens with Queen Charlotte’s story, including how she came to marry King George.
The royal wedding was filmed in Oxford University’s Merton College.
Hatfield House in Hertfordshire provided the backdrop for a scene where Queen Charlotte tries to escape by climbing over a wall in a lush garden.
Waddesdon Manor in Buckinghamshire was used as the grand setting for scenes between Violet Bridgerton’s father and Lady Danbury, a fan-favorite character.
Firle Place in East Sussex, a country residence dating back to Henry VIII’s time, was used to film scenes depicting a young Violet Bridgerton’s life with her family.
