Former Minister for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, has shared his reaction to the election of Senator Godswill Akpabio as the Senate President of the 10th National Assembly.

Akpabio emerged victorious in the election, defeating Abdulaziz Yari, the senator representing Zamfara Central.

Taking to his Twitter page, Keyamo expressed his excitement over the election outcome.

He fondly recalled his excellent working relationship with Akpabio during the previous administration, particularly in the Ministry of Niger-Delta Affairs.

Keyamo hinted at the possibility of witnessing unique and remarkable moments in the National Assembly with the newly elected Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio.

On the other hand, Reno Omokri, a political commentator, voiced his dissatisfaction with the choice of a Southerner as the Senate President.

Omokri argued that such a decision has created an imbalance of power in the government, considering that President Bola Tinubu hails from the Southwest region and the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Kayode Ariwoola, also comes from the Southwest.
