Father’s Day: Governor of Edo State, has praised dads for their crucial role in keeping families together

Mr. Godwin Obaseki, the Governor of Edo State, has praised dads for their crucial role in keeping families together and shouldering great obligations that have contributed to societal cohesion and growth.

Fathers’ contributions to propagating the ethos of sacrifice, hard labor, discipline, and love, said the governor, who made the submission in honor of Father’s Day, will be indelible in the sands of time.

“I honor fathers on this auspicious day set aside to recognize their gallantry, sacrifices, love, and care in keeping the family unit intact,” he says.

“Tasked with the great burden of providing direction and imparting principles in their children and other relatives, fathers toil away every day to make ends meet, juggling various tasks such as mentor, leader, protector, provider, and breadwinner.”

“Fathers are held to such high standards, and their attempts to maintain stability, harmony, and order are taken for granted. This is why it’s so nice that a day has been set aside to pat them on the back and thank them for their efforts.”

The governor stated that the state government will continue to provide opportunities for decent work for fathers in order to meet their responsibilities in their homes across the state, noting that civil service reforms and an increase in the minimum wage are aimed at ensuring that fathers continue to play their roles in their homes with dignity.
