Executing bikies Rebels mourn Joe Versace’s shooting in Gnangara, Perth

Police think the shooting that resulted in the death of a man in the open daylight was related to the bikie warfare, but the assailant is still on the loose.

On Thursday, just after 4 p.m., Western Australia Police were summoned to a workshop in the Gnangara neighborhood of Perth in response to complaints that a 34-year-old male had been shot in the stomach and the chest.

The victim was found “laying on the ground” when paramedics arrived, but they were unable to rescue him, according to the police.

Police do not feel the public is in danger, but Detective Senior Sergeant Keith Neubronner advised the community to be “vigilant.”

Because we currently think the shooting was targeted, we do not feel the gunman represents a danger to the community, he told reporters at the site.

“We’re still gathering information and intelligence about who the individual or people are that are engaged.”

We are aware of the victim’s identity, but we are investigating his relationships with others.

We kindly request that members of the public exercise caution, keep a close watch on what is happening, and contact Crime Stoppers if they have any information to provide.

Around 7 o’clock on Thursday night, homicide detectives and forensic teams arrived to the business to examine the horrific sight.

Police are requesting any relevant dashcam or CCTV video from the hours before and after the incident.

Security has been strict in the region, and Lakelands Lifestyle Village homeowners only have access to their houses with a valid form of identification.

Joseph Raimondi, a senior WA Rebels member, was seen at the scene comforting other mourners outside the police roadblock, even though the shooting has not been officially connected to bikies.

Top Rebel member Nick Martin, who was also one of Raimondi’s closest friends, was killed by a sniper while out and about in Perth over two years ago.

In December 2020, Martin, the longtime leader of the Rebels, was shot dead at Perth Motorplex while watching drag racing with his family by a hired assassin.
