Ex-boyfriend allegedly stabbed to death a TUT student

Following the murder of Ntokozo Mayenzi Xaba, a third-year student at Tshwane University of Technology, a man has been detained for questioning (TUT).

Thursday, February 2, Xaba was allegedly stabbed to death by her ex-boyfriend at a student house in Ekhaya Junction, Pretoria.

According to the authorities, Xaba was drinking with pals, including her ex-boyfriend, on Wednesday. Apparently, the companions left the two together that night.

The next morning, the victim’s body was discovered with stab wounds to the neck.

The police have detained the ex-boyfriend for interrogation, according to police spokesperson Dimakatso Sello.

On 2 February 2023, Ntokozo Mayenzi Xaba, age 20, was allegedly stabbed to death in her student apartment in Ekhaya Junction, Pretoria by her lover.

Spokesperson Phaphama Tshisikhawe stated that Ntokozo Xaba was enrolled in a National Diploma in Integrated Communication program at the time of her tragic death, which appears to have been the result of Gender-Based Violence.

Additionally, a man was detained after discovering his wife’s death in a pit toilet in their backyard.

The University, according to Thsisikhawe, is awaiting an official report from the South African Police Services (SAPS).

“We wish to extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and fellow students of the deceased student. “The University is providing as much support as possible to the deceased’s family during this difficult time,” she said.

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in Tshwane demanded an investigation into the Ekhaya Junction residence management and the provision of safe and alternative housing for students until their safety could be guaranteed.

The party stated that its Gender-Based Violence desk would follow up on the case and offer assistance to the relatives of the deceased.
