Episode 7’s poor lighting annoys ‘House of the Dragon’ fans

Many people are objecting, therefore the seventh episode of the streaming series “House of the Dragon” may end up being called “Dragons from Dark Dungeons.”

Fans of “Game of Thrones” can also have déjà vu because of this. According to “Variety,” a few of the episode’s scenes were too dark to view.

Similar criticism was directed against “Game of Thrones” during its final season, particularly the episode featuring the darkly illuminated combat known as “The Long Night.” The director of that and episode 7 of “House of the Dragon,” Miguel Sapochnik, won an Emmy.

According to “Variety,” one of HBO’s social media accounts went public, justifying the gloomy scenes in the show as “an intended artistic choice,” as many fans vented on Twitter about how difficult it was to view the program.

The HBO Max Help account responded to a fan who complained that a night scene in “House of the Dragon” episode 7 seemed dark on their screen, saying, “We appreciate you reaching out regarding a night scene in “House of the Dragon” episode 7 being dark on your screen.”

According to the HBO report, the scene’s gloomy lighting was chosen deliberately.

Less than 1% of social media postings sparked by episode 7 mentioned lighting problems, according to HBO.
