English Premier League Title Contenders

The English Premier League is arguably the most popular football competition not only in Europe but the world as well. The eyes of all the football fans all over the world are pointed towards this league while it lasts. So it is no wonder why we have so many debates on the title contenders this year.

According to various Premier League predictions, we have a few teams capable of winning the title at the end of the forthcoming campaign. Two of them have better chances than all others, but more on that in the next few paragraphs.

The bookmakers, analysts, former players, and fans all agree that Manchester City and Liverpool stand above other contenders for the EPL title. These two teams have been the best English clubs in the past few years, winning the majority of the trophies on the island and making notable success on the European stage as well.

Manchester City strengthened its squad with Erlin Haaland, arguably the best and the most talented striker in the world. For many, the Norwegian youngster is the best attacker since the old Ronaldo from Brazil, and his current productivity is unreal.

He scored a goal on his debut after 12 minutes, hitting the back of Bayern’s net. Haaland is already one of the most popular fantasy Premier League picks, leaving all other players far behind.

Guardiola added a few more players along the way and is aiming to land a name or a two until the end of the transfer window, but overall, the Spanish manager has a system that works perfectly, and he only needed Haaland to upgrade it.

Meanwhile, Liverpool lost one of its biggest stars, Sadio Mane, but to be honest, the two sides needed to break up after more than five years. The Reds had to acquire some fresh blood, and that is why they landed Darwin Nunez. He, too, was the only arrival to Anfield, and the manager Jurgen Klopp didn’t change the roster too much.

Though Liverpool landed Luis Diaz during the winter transfer window, their forward line is much different than before, with Salah, Nunez, and Diaz. Klopp now has the most agile and aggressive attack in the world, and he made the switch very gently without any turbulence.

Liverpool got only one of the past five titles, with the Citizens taking the remaining four, but the Reds were in the UCL finals on three occasions, winning one European title. That’s why pretty much all the pundits consider them the most dominant teams in England and the biggest favorites for the EPL title.

More Contenders

Another team that had a big success in recent years is Chelsea, the UCL champion back in 2021. Yet, the Blues were never competitive in the Premiership, and we’re constantly far behind the leading duo.

They had an active transfer window, with the biggest signing being Raheem Sterling. Thomas Tuchel’s boys need to be in the title mix, despite having a mediocre pre-season period.

The extremely aggressive teams on the market were Arsenal, Tottenham, and Manchester United. To be honest, they are in the lowest echelon of the EPL title favorites but still have some chances to grab the title, according to Premier League predictions today.

That especially goes for Tottenham, whose manager Antonio Conte knows how to win titles in England. He was the champion with Chelsea back in 2017, having one of the most confident seasons in the club’s history.

The Italians didn’t have time to build a team after landing during the previous season. However, Tottenham and Conte signed a few players this summer, and it seems he is slowly putting all the puzzle pieces together. With Kane and Son, who are among the best players in the world, Conte has enough talent to go all the way.

Arsenal’s purchase of Gabriel Jesus is maybe the jackpot that the fans at Emirates waited for so long. The Brazilian exploded immediately after arriving, showing his skill set during the pre-season.

Mikel Arteta formed a very fluid and talented team whose goal to be among the top four is highly realistic, and if luck follows them throughout the year, we might see them in the battle for the title.

And at last, United. The Red Devils have a new manager, Erik ten Hag, who made massive changes, signing players mainly from the Netherlands, who are known to him from the battles against Ajax.

Manchester looked solid during the friendly games, but Cristiano Ronaldo’s saga casts a shadow over their good displays. The Portuguese superstar refuses to stay at Trafford and wants to leave the club forcefully.

The English Premier League promises good fun, so stay tuned and follow this magnificent competition.
