Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle reconnected during the funeral for Queen Elizabeth II.

After 70 years as monarch, the Queen passed away on September 8 at the age of 96. On Monday, her burial service was performed at Westminster Abbey.

Prince William and Prince Harry accompanied the late monarch’s children as they followed her coffin as it was carried from Westminster Hall to Westminster Abbey.

The spouses of William and Harry arrived in vehicles rather than following the coffin.

Kate had Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and the Queen Consort in her vehicle, while Meghan travelled with Sophie, the Countess of Wessex.

But before the funeral started, Meghan reunited with Kate and her kids, making this the Duchess of Sussex’s first public appearance with her nephew and niece since she and Harry left the royal family.

All four were dressed in all-black, and Kate added a piece of jewellery that belonged to the Queen to her ensemble.

As their connection with the royal family has been tense since they stopped to be working royals, Harry and Meghan have not been seen in public with William and Kate’s children.

In fact, Lilibet Diana, the daughter of Harry and Meghan, wasn’t even introduced to King Charles III until the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in June 2022, when she was only a year old.

However, there have been hints that, in light of the Queen’s passing, the royal family would seek to make amends with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
